NEW! CENTER FOR NETWORKED CONFIGURABLE COMMAND, CONTROL AND COMMUNICATIONS FOR RAPID SITUATIONAL AWARENESS (NC4)
Developing secure, fully networked command, control and communications infrastructure to enable integrated and optimal decision-making. UC San Diego and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Army Research Laboratory are partners on the project. The center will have a major educational component and create a pipeline for future engineers to be involved in research, especially underrepresented student groups.

NEW COLLABORATION!
$12.4M DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY FRONTIER RESEARCH CENTER WITH ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
The center, Ultra Materials for a Resilient, Smart Electricity Grid, or Ultra EFRC, aims to create a more resilient and sustainable electricity grid by improving the performance of electrical and thermal performance of wide-band gap semiconductors. UC Riverside researchers will focus on investigating acoustic phonons and thermal conduction in wide-band gap materials, heterostructures and high-power electronic devices, as well as understanding specifics of thermal transport in wide-band gap material systems.
GRAND RE-LAUNCH!
CENTER FOR ROBOTICS AND INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS (CRIS)
The new CRIS center expands research on the foundations and applications of intelligent and autonomous systems including robotics, computer vision, controls, machine learning, and real-time systems, among others.
